thankful for more support

Judah and I had a hard time with the breastfeeding again this past weekend, so I'm thankful to have found a public health breastfeeding clinic that works out of the Sears at Limeridge Mall. They have a nursing room for shopping moms, and every afternoon between 1 and 4, two public health nurses are there for breastfeeding support. They also have a scale where you can weigh your baby when you come in

I took Judah there today, and they offered some helpful tips. Of course, he did much better there than he does at home. I think it's because I'm more relaxed when I know someone's there to help than when I'm at home, worried that I won't be able to feed my boy.

Today, Judah weighed in at 6 lbs 10 oz.

Isn't he little?? This basin and pitcher are the ones that Rob and I used to wash eachothers feet at our wedding. It took a few shots to get a picture of him in it without him crying! Silly parents!

Kind of how Judah was sitting inside of me ... he never got a hang of that head-down thing.

Today we took Judah back to Trillium so that he could have his "newborn" pictures taken. For the first little bit, he just wanted to sleep, and none of the pictures turned out. But then I had to nurse him, and after that he perked right up and took some AMAZING pictures. So amazing, in fact, that the photographer requested the use of his pictures in their brochure! We said yes, of course, especially after she offered us several free pictures and a CD with all of the proofs.

Judah is such a superstar! Not only did he weigh 6 lbs 4 oz, but he did so well with the breastfeeding that he "graduated"! I'm going to see what kind of breastfeeding support and resources are in Hamilton, but we have no more appointments at Trillium.

Judah did very well again today! And he weighed 5 lbs 7 oz. He's a growing boy!

Judah is SO tiny in his little bath seat, but he seemed to enjoy the experience for the most part. He didn't really cry or complain at all, and seemed happy when we bundled him up all nice and cozy afterwards!

Judah has a cold...

...so we took him to the doctor today. Then we were sent to St. Joseph's hospital to get him checked out by the pediatric ward, just because he's such a little guy. There was nothing major, thank goodness; we just need to give him saline drops to help with the congestion. I can't wait until his cold clears up, though. It's so awful hearing him try to breath through his stuffed up nose.

On a more positive note, they weighed him today, and he now weighs 5 lbs 4 oz!

We had a great day today. Auntie Rachel drove mommy and Judah to Trillium for an appointment with a lactation consultant, and Judah did very well! He is getting better at staying awake while feeding! He was also weighed today, and weighed in just below 5 lbs 2 oz!
