first time camping

rob was in a wedding this past weekend (congratulations, rod and rebecca!), so i went camping with my parents near where the wedding was so that they could babysit. judah saw the campfire for the first time and absolutely LOVED it, and we took him to the beach but not into the water because it was WAY too cold. we are looking forward to a week-long camping trip in august.

i think my little boy is the most handsome guy in the whole world. maybe it's a little conceited, but when he looks at me with those big dark probably-brown eyes, i absolutely melt. i absolutely cannot imagine my life without him, and i would do anything to protect him. i look forward to seeing what God has in store for him in his life. my only prayer is that he will know and love the Lord deeply and fully.

milestone: judah rolls over...

...from tummy to back!! It kind of caught both of us off guard ... I put him down on his tummy for some tummy time, and in a matter of seconds, he had rolled himself right over. Then he grinned up at me like "How'd I do that?!" He is growing up so fast!

we took judah swimming for the first time today, at my (karen's) parents' pool. he screamed a lot, but once he got used to it, he didn't seem to mind it too much ...

i haven't been able to post too much because judah has been extremely fussy and not feeling well over the past several weeks. we have just discovered, by process of elimination, that judah is allergic to milk protein. so i have cut all dairy out of my diet, and he is doing so much better! praise God that we figured out what was going on!
